This is an outstanding opportunity for a Structural Engineer with 3+ years' UK consultancy experience to join one of the UK's most respected, design-led structural engineering consultancies. You'll work on an exceptionally diverse portfolio of projects ranging from cutting-edge laboratories and commercial developments through to historic buildings, heritage structures and bespoke refurbishments. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for an engineer who enjoys technical variety and solving different engineering challenges.
Rather than specialising in one project type, you'll develop into a well-rounded engineer, working alongside highly experienced Partners and Senior Engineers who remain actively involved in project delivery and mentoring.
Deliver structural designs across a wide variety of sectors including:
- Commercial
- Education
- Laboratories & Research Facilities
- Heritage & Listed Buildings
- Residential
- Cultural & Public Buildings
Take responsibility for your own projects with increasing autonomy. Work directly alongside experienced Chartered Engineers and Partners. Carry out structural analysis and design using a range of materials including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber. Produce structural calculations, drawings and technical reports. Attend client meetings and site visits throughout project delivery. Work collaboratively with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams. Use software including AutoCAD, Master Series, TEDDS, STAAD.Pro,
SCIA Engineer and Revit. Contribute to innovative, sustainable engineering solutions across a diverse range of building type
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' UK structural engineering consultancy experience.
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Working towards Chartership (IStructE or ICE) or already Chartered.
- Experience designing a range of building structures in the UK.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for structural engineering and willingness to work across a broad variety of projects.
- Commercial awareness with experience producing reports, calculations and technical documentation.
- Comfortable attending site visits and liaising with clients.
- Based within commuting distance of Oxford.
