A specialist engineering consultancy is looking for an Instrumentation & Monitoring Technician to join their team in Oxford.
This is a hands‑on opportunity suited to Civil Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering graduates looking to build a career in ground and structural engineering.
The RoleYou will work on a range of construction and infrastructure projects, installing and monitoring specialist instrumentation used to assess the performance and behaviour of foundations and structures.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing fibre‑optic sensors and monitoring equipment
- Carrying out site‑based inspections, measurements and data collection
- Monitoring strain, movement, temperature and structural behaviour
- Processing and interpreting monitoring data
- Supporting engineers with technical assessments and reporting
- Working closely with site teams, contractors and engineers
- Travelling to project sites across the UK
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
- Graduate or up to 2 years’ relevant experience
- Interested in practical, site‑based engineering
- Comfortable working outdoors and travelling to project sites
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Full UK driving licence desirable
