Structural engineer two

You are a structural engineer two or three years into your career and you are starting to notice a ceiling. Not a dramatic one, just the quiet kind where the work has stopped teaching you things and the people above you are not moving anywhere soon.

AKS Ward is a structural and civil engineering practice with offices in London and Oxford. Their work spans heritage, residential, commercial and university projects. The Oxford office is where this role sits, and it covers a project mix that includes conservation work on listed buildings, residential schemes and larger construction programmes. For a structural engineer at the two-to-five-year stage, that breadth matters.

You will have a structural engineering degree, at least two years of UK consultancy experience, and a working knowledge of design across one or more construction types. You are partway through your chartership, or actively planning it. What you are looking for is a practice where the work is technically varied and the path forward is clear.

The role is an intermediate structural engineer position in Oxford. You will take increasing ownership of structural design work, supported by a senior team with genuine technical depth. The practice is sized to give engineers at your level real responsibility, not just more of the same task repeated.

Salary is between 43,000 and 55,000.
