Job Description & How to Apply Below
The role is based in Oxfordshire, operating on a hybrid basis with 3 days per week on-site. This is a permanent opportunity offering a competitive package, bonus and share options.
Our client is a growing company delivering custom silicon solutions for customers developing some of today's most innovative technologies. Every project brings different technical challenges, customers and applications, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to remain close to the engineering while leading complex chip development programmes.
As the ASIC Project Manager, you'll take ownership of multiple ASIC developments from early specification through to tape-out and production release, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams and directly with customers to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
Responsibilities include
Managing multiple custom ASIC development programmes from specification through to tape-out and production
Coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams across digital design, verification, FPGA, mixed-signal, analog and system engineering
Managing customer relationships, project scope, schedules, budgets, risks and change requests
Leading project reviews, tracking technical progress and ensuring delivery milestones are achieved
Working closely with technical leads to challenge assumptions, identify risks and keep complex developments on track
Supporting projects across a diverse range of applications including automotive, quantum technologies, sensing and industrial electronics
Ensuring projects are delivered in line with quality processes and customer expectations
What you'll bring
A strong technical background in ASIC development, ideally having started your career in digital design, verification, FPGA, SoC or analog IC design before moving into project or technical leadership
Ability to hold credible technical discussions with engineering teams and challenge decisions where appropriate
Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams within semiconductor or deep-tech environments
Strong customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
A collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
This isn't a typical semiconductor project management role. The variety of technologies means you'll never find yourself delivering the same programme twice. One project could involve automotive-grade mixed-signal devices with rigorous quality requirements, while the next could focus on quantum technologies, advanced sensing or FPGA-based systems. It's an opportunity to stay technically engaged, broaden your semiconductor expertise and work alongside some of the industry's leading ASIC engineers within a collaborative, growing organisation.
