This FTSE listed business is recruiting for a Corporate Tax Manager to join their Group Tax team based in Oxford. The primary focus of this role role is to manage corporate tax compliance and reporting for the global group. The role would suit a qualified accountant or a tax specialist (ACA, ACCA or CTA) with a strong grounding in UK corporation tax and tax accounting.

The expectation would be the successful applicant to work 3 days per week in the office.

The core responsibilities will include:

  • Oversight of corporate tax compliance process (outsourced) for the UK group and overseas subsidiaries
  • Assisting with more complex aspects of corporate tax compliance (e.g. R&D tax credits), where commercial understanding and extensive detailed tax analysis is required).
  • Assisting with the management of year end and interim group tax reporting, including liaison with internal finance team and external advisors
  • Managing transfer pricing compliance for the group; preparing transfer pricing master file and local files for relevant territories and reviewing transfer pricing calculations.
  • Identifying and process improvement opportunities and driving relevant change.
  • Involvement with ad hoc tax research and projects (e.g. in relation to global expansion, patent box, tax efficiency and transfer pricing)
  • Assisting with group tax enquiries, and liaison with HMRC, as required.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant and/or tax specialist with a strong grounding in UK corporation tax and ideall a good understanding of the principles of tax accounting. This could be a first move in-house from a professional services firm, but would equally suit a candidates who is already working in an in-house role. You will need to be a pro-active individual with good communication and project management skills.

You will likely need to live in, or be prepared to move to, the Oxford area.
