Cost Accountant | Oxford Nanopore Technologies

We’re looking for two Cost Accountants to join our growing Finance team at Oxford Nanopore Technologies.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting our manufacturing and production operations within a fast-paced, global biotech organisation that is transforming genomics.

About the Role

As a Cost Accountant, you’ll support the Finance Business Partner – Production team
, working at the intersection of finance, manufacturing, and supply chain
.

You’ll take ownership of key areas across inventory, cost analysis, and reporting
, helping to ensure accuracy, insight, and continuous improvement in a complex production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Managing inventory and production balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting Finance Business Partners with regular and ad hoc analysis
  • Preparing month-end reports
    , including cost centre reporting, accruals, and prepayments
  • Reviewing and supporting inventory movements, journals, and workflows
  • Partnering with operations to review purchase orders and stock movements
  • Supporting stock counts and standard cost reviews to improve accuracy
  • Reconciling data with third-party logistics providers
  • Assisting with year-end accounts and audit queries
  • Driving process improvements and identifying efficiencies across finance operations
Qualifications
  • Part or newly qualified ACCA / CIMA
    , or QBE
  • Around 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or complex production environments
  • Familiarity with systems such as D365 or Tableau
  • Experience with variance analysis
