The Finance Division at the University of Oxford are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their Treasury team for a maternity cover of up to 12 months.
Location: Hybrid working with at least 2 days a week in Oxford
Salary: £32,108 - £37,338 per annum (pro rata for part time)
Contract: Maternity Leave cover up to 12 months
Hours: Part time 20 hours per week across 4 to 5 days with availability at the start of the working day

Finance Assistant to join our Treasury section on a part time basis, 20 hours a week across 4 days with flexibility to work 5 days on occasion of leave cover. Reporting to the Treasury Manager this post forms an integral part of the Treasury section and the post-holder will have a variety of responsibilities in this area. The role requires excellent problem solving skills and an organised approach, together with highly effective communication skills and a specialist knowledge of banking systems and IT, particularly Excel.
You will be required to promote and maintain a high quality service to departmental customers, whilst ensuring that the University’s financial procedures are followed at all times. As the Treasury Function within the finance division also works closely with VAT, Tax, Insurance and Cashiers there will also be requirements to fulfil any obligations within these teams. You will need the ability to work efficiently and independently.
You
- Accounting or related banking qualifications or working towards one
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to encourage a team-based approach
- Good organisational and decision making skills with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively
- The ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with a wide range of people within and external to the post holder’s own organisation
- Computer literate with experience of a range of software
- Strong Excel skills
- An experienced administrator, working with accuracy and attention to detail
