Commercial Accountant

Position: Commercial Contract Accountant
The Opportunity
As Commercial Contract Accountant, you will be a key member of the contract leadership team, providing both commercial and operational financial support to ensure informed business decisions are made across two long-term Facilities Management contracts.

You will take ownership of financial reporting, month-end accounting, budgeting and forecasting, while working closely with operational leaders to drive performance, improve controls, identify opportunities for cost reduction and support business growth.

This role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on contract performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities  
Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting in line with IFRS and company accounting policies.
Take full ownership of month-end processes, including journal postings, reconciliations and balance sheet management.
Prepare and report monthly management accounts for multiple contracts.
Maintain full responsibility for contract P&L and balance sheet performance.
Lead budget preparation, forecasting and financial planning activities.
Analyse financial and operational data to identify efficiencies and drive cost reduction initiatives.
Develop financial models and prepare quarterly accounting papers.
Present financial performance, risks and opportunities to senior leadership teams.
Build strong working relationships with operational and commercial stakeholders.
Ensure finance processes, controls and governance frameworks are continuously improved.
Manage relationships with both internal and external auditors.
Support contract billing processes to ensure timely invoicing and cash collection.
Upload and maintain financial data within SAP.
Contribute to ad-hoc finance and commercial projects as required.  About You
We are looking for a proactive and commercially focused accountant who can combine strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills.

Essential Experience  
Qualified Accountant or equivalent experience.
5 years' accounting experience.
Strong understanding of IFRS and technical accounting principles.

Experience with in contract accounting and commercial finance environments.
Proven experience managing complex financial reporting and forecasting processes.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate financial information effectively.
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to maintain a strategic commercial perspective.  

Desirable Experience  
Facilities Management sector experience.
Experience supporting PFI or long-term service contracts.
Knowledge of SAP.
Experience working within large, multi-site operational environments.  What's on Offer?
