Project Manager:
Assurance & Finance – Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative
Serve as PSI’s primary assurance and finance specialist for the Collaborative, supporting the management of an $80 million budget, reviewing overseas expenditure, preparing financial reports and coordinating annual re‑budgeting processes within a large, multi‑partner international initiative.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Senior Programme Manager and the NDM Director of Compliance & Assurance to manage financial oversight across the coalition.
- Review overseas expenditure and ensure compliance with funder and institutional requirements.
- Prepare, monitor and forecast large, activity‑based budgets using advanced Excel techniques.
- Analyse and interpret complex financial data, maintaining detailed trackers and documentation.
- Support risk management activities and ensure effective communication across diverse programme stakeholders.
- Coordinate annual re‑budgeting processes and liaise with financial partners.
- Provide clear, data‑driven presentations to senior stakeholders and committees.
- Travel internationally to Africa as required to support programme activities.
- Degree in a relevant subject.
- Proven experience managing assurance, compliance and finance activities within complex international programmes.
- Strong project‑management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Highly skilled in Excel, capable of preparing, monitoring and forecasting large budgets.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Experience working in resource‑constrained settings and/or within complex international partnerships.
- Professional finance or assurance qualification (completed or in progress) would be an advantage.
- Interest in global health and/or international development.
Full‑time fixed‑term contract for 36 months; funded by the Mastercard Foundation donation.
Standard Grade 7:
Salary in range £39,424 – £47,779 per annum, inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University weighting of £1,730 per year.
