About our client
Our client is the secondaries team of an established VC fund of funds. They are looking for an Investment Manager to join the team in Oxford.
What the job involves- Take accountability for the effective running of due diligence across assigned investments, ensuring scope, timelines, key risks and outputs are appropriate, and that issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner
- Support the sourcing and evaluation of new investment opportunities, including market research, liaising with intermediaries, financial analysis and initial screening
- Conduct investment due diligence, taking ownership of defined work streams and contributing judgement-led analysis to deal discussions
- Prepare high quality investment materials, analysis and recommendations for internal review and decision-making forums
- Manage the ongoing monitoring of a defined portfolio of investments, ensuring regular review of performance, portfolio developments and GP communications
- Maintain appropriate and professional day-to-day contact with GP relationships for assigned investments, as well as secondary market intermediaries, acting as a consistent point of contact alongside senior colleagues where appropriate
- Support fundraising and marketing activity by preparing investment materials, analysis and supporting documentation for existing and prospective investors
- Participate in investor meetings, calls and presentations as required, contributing analysis and responding to queries within own area of expertise
- Proven experience in investment management, private equity, or a closely related financial discipline (preference for those with existing secondary market experience and exposure to and/or interest in VC / growth / tech)
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in financial modelling, due diligence and investment analysis
- Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within an FCA-regulated environment, including SMCR
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analysis and recommendations effectively
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work streams
