About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Treasury Assistant to support the day-to-day management of treasury operations, banking activities and cash management. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing banking transactions, reconciling accounts and ensuring compliance with financial controls.

The position is set to commence ASAP and will be part time 20 hours per week across 4 or 5 days per week for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £16.92 per hour + holiday pay. This role could go up to 5 months however this will be based upon the departments needs as well as candidate performance.

Key Duties:

Cash Management & Banking
  • Support the daily management of cash balances and liquidity across multiple currencies
  • Upload bank statements and monitor banking transactions and receipts
  • Process payments, Direct Debits, CHAPS and international transfers, ensuring compliance with procedures
  • Maintain banking records and respond to payment and transaction queries
  • Provide foreign exchange rates and support foreign currency transactions
Treasury & Financial Control
  • Support treasury dealing activities and monitor investment balances
  • Maintain records of investments, loans and interest calculations
  • Reconcile sterling and foreign currency bank accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Work with finance colleagues and external banking partners to resolve queries
  • Identify opportunities to improve treasury processes and support implementation of changes
  • Assist with training and maintain accurate audit trails and documentation
Selection Criteria
  • Accounting, treasury or banking knowledge
  • Strong organisational and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with financial systems and banking software
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
