Contract type:
Fixed Term contract for 6 months.

Hours:

Full time (37.5 hours per week), part time will be considered with a minimum of 0.8 FTE.

The Modern Slavery and Human Rights Policy and Evidence Centre (PEC) is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Policy Impact Manager to join its policy impact team and support the delivery of its strategy to both localise and internationalise its policy impact work.

The role

Reporting to the Policy Impact Lead, you will develop subject-matter expertise in modern slavery and human rights policy, monitor legislative and policy developments, and identify opportunities to strengthen the impact of the Centre's research in the UK and internationally.

You will build and maintain relationships with policymakers and decision-makers, produce accessible policy-facing outputs such as policy briefs and evidence submissions, and work closely with researchers to develop tailored engagement plans that maximise policy impact. The role also involves supporting meaningful inclusion of lived experience in policy impact activity and contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of the Centre's policy-influencing work.

Qualifications

and experience
  • You will have experience working at the research-policy interface, with expertise in modern slavery or human rights and a strong understanding of UK policy making processes.
  • You will be highly research literate, an excellent communicator able to translate complex evidence for policy audiences, and confident building professional relationships across sectors.
  • Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and professional integrity are essential.
  • Experience in government or the third sector, project or programme management, impact evaluation, or engagement with people with lived experience would be advantageous.
