Band 6 Rotational Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

This is an exciting Band 6 opportunity for physiotherapists seeking a first musculoskeletal/orthopaedic position, or for those already at this level who wish to expand experience within a well‑supported Centre of Excellence.

Rotations (8 months)
  • Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre – MSK outpatients, Optimise Pain Management, Hand Therapy, Elective Orthopaedic Inpatients.
  • John Radcliffe Hospital – Trauma inpatients, Trauma outpatients, specialist fracture clinic work.
  • Horton General Hospital – MSK outpatients (GP referrals and post‑trauma cases).

The rotations take place across three OUH sites:
John Radcliffe Hospital, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, and Horton General Hospital, providing diverse learning and leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat a complex patient caseload independently, maintaining accurate records.
  • Supervise Band 5 physiotherapists, assistants, and student physiotherapists.
  • Lead evidence‑based projects, contribute to research and audit.
  • Deputise for team leaders in operational management.
  • Provide multidisciplinary team input, coordinate care, and deliver comprehensive discharge plans.
  • Maintain competence with physiotherapy equipment and provide training to junior staff.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Registered Physiotherapist with experience in musculoskeletal/orthopaedic care.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex presentations and work flexibly across environments.
  • Strong communication and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and high‑quality patient care.
