Senior Project Manager - Maternity cover | University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Health Innovation Oxford & Thames Valley (HIOTV) is seeking an experienced and confident Senior Project Manager to provide maternity cover within our Clinical Innovation Adoption (CIA) Programme.

This is a role requiring someone who can step in quickly, work autonomously, and lead complex programmes  post holder will manage a diverse portfolio of innovation and transformation projects, working closely with clinicians, NHS providers, Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), regional and national partners.

• Lead and deliver programmes that support national NHS priorities for transformation (e.g. Respiratory) and Health Innovation Network national programmes (e.g. Cardiovascular Disease).
• Drive regional innovation priorities, working with ICBs, ICT and strategic clinical networks.
• Support local clinical pathway transformation, redesign services and adopt new models of care for providers and frontline teams.
• Design and implement delivery and evaluation frameworks, including real‑world data collection systems.
• Produce programme‑level reporting and oversight for national, regional, and local boards.
• Ensure clinical, operational, and financial readiness for adoption.
• Identify risks and barriers to implementation and define mitigation plans.
• Support business case development, tenders, and scaling decisions.
• Engage across clinical therapeutic areas, particularly respiratory and urology, while remaining adaptable across other specialties.

This role requires someone who can operate strategically while delivering at pace, influencing senior stakeholders and supporting clinical transformation.

Risk Management:

The management of risk is the responsibility of everyone and will be achieved within a progressive, honest and open environment. Staff will be provided with the necessary education, training and support to enable them to meet this responsibility. Staff should be familiar with the Major Incident Policy, Fire Policy, Information Governance and should make themselves familiar with the local response plan and their role within that response.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring that all duties and responsibilities of this post are carried out in compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, statutory regulations and trust policies and procedures, with appropriate training and specialist advice where required.

All staff, both clinical and non‑clinical, are required to adhere to the Trust’s Infection Prevention and Control Policies and to maintain high standards of infection control, including hand hygiene and mandatory training.

The post holder will uphold the rights of children and young people in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and support safeguarding children and vulnerable adults across the organisation.

All staff must complete annual information governance training and ensure they understand the Trust’s Data Quality Policy to support accurate and timely information for patient care and performance management.
