About the Role
Health Now Complex Care is looking for experienced and compassionate Mental Health Support Workers to join our team supporting a client in Oxfordshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated support worker who has experience working with individuals with complex mental health and behavioural needs. The role involves providing consistent, person-centred support while promoting independence, stability and wellbeing.
Essential Experience
* Complex PTSD
* Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* Challenging behaviours
* Complex mental health needs
* Emotional dysregulation and distress
* Behaviours that may present a risk to themselves or others
Experience of working within a person-centred, trauma-informed approach is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide compassionate, person-centred support throughout long day shifts
* Support the individual with their emotional wellbeing and mental health needs
* Develop positive and trusting professional relationships
* Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging or distressed behaviour
* Follow individualised care plans, risk assessments and behavioural support strategies
* Identify changes in presentation and escalate concerns appropriately
* Encourage independence, choice and meaningful activities
* Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
* Complete accurate daily records and documentation
* Work closely with families, healthcare professionals and the wider care team
* Promote a safe, stable and supportive environment
About You
* Experienced in supporting people with complex mental health needs
* Calm, patient and emotionally resilient
* Confident managing challenging behaviours
* Understanding of trauma-informed care
* Reliable and professional
* Able to work independently and as part of a wider care team
* Passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred support
Pay
£14.35 – £16.88 per hour
