Business Analyst

As a Business Analyst, you will connect the Product Owner, Engineering, and other stakeholders. You will support understanding business and functional needs, analysing requirements, and translating them into clear specifications that guide development.

• Work with the product owner and other stakeholders for requirements analysis, including developing use cases and data mapping.
• Organise cross-functional discussions to ensure alignment across all stakeholders.
• Contribute to backlog refinement, QA alignment, and design discussions with Engineering.

• Build the Use cases in a way that will support Agile ways of working.
• Work closely with the delivery lead to facilitate planning, review, and improvement activities.
• As development progresses capture enhancement use cases to be implemented in later sprints.
• Check on technical task dependencies and ensure these tasks are captured prior to the relevant sprint.
• Demonstrate strong execution skills, helping drive work streams forward and ensuring tasks progress on schedule.

• Work with the Delivery Lead to ensure backlog items are sprint-ready
• Ensure wire-frames are produced by the engineering team early to allow review.
• Assist the Delivery Lead in identifying risks and dependencies.
• Support stakeholder communication and help create documentation as needed.

• Use Jira as the primary tool for capturing use cases and tracking progress.
• Ensure epics, stories, and dependencies are structured in Jira to support credible forecasting and stakeholder visibility.
• Keep data clean, accurate, and actionable

• Lead refinement meetings.
• Provide requirements, and use case knowledge for all sprint ceremonies.
• Act as the authority to the engineering team for requirements questions

• 3+ years' experience in business analysis, functional design, or systems analysis.
• The ability to translate business needs into clear functional requirements through the use of strong analytical skills.
• Comfortable working in agile environments, with good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of software design processes, especially Agile practices.

• Background in software development
• Understanding of Technology.

This is a hybrid role and the employee will be expected to be able to attend the office in north Oxford, UK.

Salary range (dependent on experience): £45,000 - £65,000 p.a.
