Cloud Computing, Systems Engineer
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Customer Platforms team. Our team works with stakeholders across the business to deliver reliable, high-quality customer experience from end-to-end, from our corporate website to our critical business systems integration. The role requires strong technical expertise delivering secure, scalable and reliable systems, working with AWS, CI/CD automation, Python and Type Script.
You will be working closely with a friendly, high-performing, cross-disciplinary team with knowledge and interests across our business and software stack.
Key responsibilities- Infrastructure-as-code – working closely with the team to design and implement new features using AWS, terraform and Git Lab.
- Observability and support – performing root-cause analysis of incidents and improving our Open Telemetry/Grafana observability tools.
- Dev Sec Ops – ensuring security, governance and compliance across our applications using a shift-left approach, monitoring vulnerabilities and implementing automated security testing.
- Continuous improvement and continuous delivery – ensuring we deploy confidently and quickly by improving and maintaining our testing and deployment processes in Git Lab CI
- Data management – ensuring the integrity, reliability and security of our data across MySQL, Postgre
SQL, Mongo
DB, Redis and Storyblok.
We expect a strong candidate to show experience and expertise in:
- Implementing and advocating a Dev Ops and Dev Sec Ops culture
- AWS, especially Fargate, Cloud Front, Lambdas, Event Bridge and SQS
- Securing applications and data in a hybrid cloud
- CI/CD Automation, Infrastructure as Code in Terraform
- Open Telemetry for observability
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
We are also keen to talk about:
- Packaging, testing and running Python and Node.js applications
- Cost control and calculation in cloud environments
- API integration into business systems such as Salesforce, Service Now and D365
- Asynchronous architectural patterns, including event-based architectures
- Authentication using OAuth
2.0 or SAML - Integration testing and data contracts
- Compliance with frameworks such as ISO
270001, ISO
9001 and ISO
13485, GMP and GDPR
