Job Description & How to Apply Below
Scientist / Senior Scientist – Cellular Immunology (Cell Therapy)
We’re partnered with a cutting-edge biotech developing next-generation cell therapies, focused on enhancing the precision and efficacy of engineered T-cell responses in complex disease settings.
This is a highly hands-on, lab-first role — ideal for someone who wants to be at the bench, driving experiments and contributing directly to preclinical therapeutic development.
The OpportunityYou’ll join a fast-moving R&D team working across T-cell biology, assay development, and cell therapy optimisation, playing a key role in generating high-quality data to support early-stage programmes.
This role sits at the intersection of immunology, cell engineering, and translational science.
What You’ll Be Doing- Design and execute mammalian cell culture experiments, including primary immune cells
- Develop and optimise functional and potency assays to evaluate engineered T-cell responses
- Run and analyse:
- Flow Cytometry (immunophenotyping)
- ELISA / cytokine release assays
- Western Blot
- Perform cytotoxicity, proliferation, and activation assays to assess T-cell function
- Support preclinical development of cell therapy candidates
- Contribute to experimental design, troubleshooting, and data interpretation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across biology and translational research
- MSc or PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field
- Proven industry experience within biotech or pharma
- Mammalian cell culture
- Flow Cytometry
- ELISA / Western Blot
- Experience working with T-cells (essential)
- Exposure to CAR‑T, TCR‑T or cell therapy platforms (highly desirable)
- Cytotoxicity assays
- Cytokine release assays
- Comfortable working in a lab-intensive, fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting preclinical / early-stage therapeutic development
- Background in immuno-oncology or solid tumour biology
- Exposure to high-throughput or screening-based workflows
- Prior experience in a start-up or scale-up biotech
- Join a well-funded, high-growth biotech
- Work on next-generation cell therapies with real clinical impact
- Be part of a lean, high-performing scientific team
- Strong scope for ownership, progression, and scientific input
