The business operates a cloud-first data environment and is committed to building scalable, reliable, and innovative data solutions. This role sits within a collaborative data function, working closely with engineering, analytics, and data acquisition teams.
The RoleAs a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will take ownership of a key area of the data platform and play an important role in enhancing data quality, performance, and scalability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, building, and optimising ELT pipelines across cloud-based data platforms.
- Developing and maintaining data solutions using Azure, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and SQL.
- Supporting data migration and platform modernisation initiatives.
- Improving data processing efficiency and reducing data latency across multiple regions.
- Working with both modern and legacy data models to deliver scalable solutions.
- Developing and maintaining Power BI reporting and analytics capabilities.
- Implementing best practices around data quality, documentation, governance, and maintainability.
- Collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
- Contributing to architectural decisions and continuous improvement across the data platform.
To be successful in this Senior Analytics Engineer role, you should have:
- Strong commercial expertise in SQL, which is a core requirement for the position.
- Experience working with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Fabric, and Azure cloud technologies.
- Strong knowledge of ELT pipeline development, optimisation, and data integration.
- Experience supporting data migration projects and modernising existing data environments.
- Expertise in Power BI and data visualisation.
- Experience working with legacy data models while delivering improvements and modernisation.
- Knowledge of Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Python for automation or data scraping.
- Azure Dev Ops, source control, and branching strategies.
- Data warehousing, datamarts, and reporting databases.
- Exposure to Data Science workflows and concepts.
- Hybrid working with 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
