Job summary
The Head of Cyber Security is responsible for leading and managing the Trust's cyber security function, ensuring the protection of systems, data and services from cyber threats while enabling safe and secure digital transformation.
The role is accountable for the delivery and continuous improvement of cyber security capabilities across the Trust, including security operations, threat detection and response, and cyber resilience. This includes ensuring effective monitoring, incident response, and alignment with NHS England Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC).
The post holder will work closely with Security Architecture, Digital and clinical and operational teams to ensure that security is embedded across all services and programmes, aligned to organisational risk appetite, and compliant with relevant frameworks including DSPT.
The role will provide leadership across the cyber security function, developing team capability, establishing clear operating models and processes, and ensuring the Trust can effectively manage an evolving threat landscape while maintaining operational resilience.
Main duties of the jobLeads the Trust's cyber security operations, including monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management; ensures alignment with national NHS cyber services; drives risk reduction and threat-informed improvements; and provides leadership, governance, performance reporting, and strategic direction for the cyber security function.
