Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and partner‑led service right to our customers’ doors, actively playing out our ethos of passionate service. When you’re not out on the road, you’ll support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to a friendly and welcoming environment.

People must be 18 years or older to work in this role.

• Check your delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
• Complete all appropriate vehicle safety checks and maintain full road compliance, health and safety standards.
• Serve as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand on the road, prioritising outstanding customer service.
• Help customers with their shopping, building rapport based on trust and service.
• Support the wider shop team with general shop‑keeping tasks when required.

• Full, valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong time‑management abilities.
• Capability to meet physical requirements of the role (e.g. lifting crates, moving cages).
• Comfortable working independently with self‑motivation and adaptability.
• IT literate.

• Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed.

Varied hours of full‑time work (37.5 hours) across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends.
