Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

Overview

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring Waitrose quality produce and Partner-led service directly to customers’ doors. You’ll support the shop team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping when not on deliveries, contributing to the efficient and friendly running of the shop.

Due to the nature of the role, you need to be 18 years or older to work in this position.

• Check your delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
• Ensure all vehicle safety checks are complete, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety.
• Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand on the road with customer service as a top priority.
• Help customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
• Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.

Pay: £15.02 per hour. Night premium (22:00 – 06:00): £3.75 per hour, applicable to existing Partners enrolled on Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.

Permanent. Hours of work:
Part-time (7.5 hours) on Sunday 14:15 – 22:30. Job level:
Partnership Level 10.

• Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong time management abilities.
• Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
• Comfortable working independently with self-motivation and adaptability.
• IT literate.

• Previous driving experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles would be beneficial.
