Job Title
- Estates Maintenance Officer

About You

Are you looking to make a hands‑on, positive impact in a supportive school community? Do you bring genuine enthusiasm for working in an educational environment where your daily efforts directly benefit our students?

Whether you are an experienced tradesperson, a skilled maintenance professional, or someone with strong practical aptitude eager to learn and grow, we want to hear from you. We are looking for someone who takes deep pride in keeping our facilities running safely, smoothly, and sustainably.

If you want to join an organisation where Estates staff are recognised as essential partners in our success, where your growth is backed by funded formal apprenticeship qualifications, and where staff are always treated people first, this is the place for you.

The Role

As an Estates Maintenance Officer, you will join a dedicated site and support team at The Oxford Academy, playing a pivotal role in creating a safe, clean, and inspiring environment where our students can thrive every day.

We are open to applications from individuals with varying levels of experience:

  • Experienced Candidates:
You bring established skills in site management, health and safety compliance, practical DIY, or building maintenance trades.
  • Less Experienced Candidates:
You bring a strong practical mindset, a proactive attitude, and the enthusiasm to develop your craft through structured support and CPLD pathways.
Why This Role Matters

At The Oxford Academy, our Estates team does far more than maintain buildings – you help shape the physical heartbeat of our school. By keeping our grounds safe, welcoming, and well‑cared for, you directly enable high‑quality learning and help foster a sense of pride across our entire community. We genuinely value this role as a cornerstone of our day‑to‑day success.

Why Join Us

This is an important time to join The Oxford Academy, where our values of ‘commitment to others, commitment to learning’ drive everything we do. We are seeking a skilled individual who shares our deep belief that education has the power to transform lives, communities, and society for the better.

You will be joining a team where staff are genuinely proud of the work they do, recognising how valuable a high‑quality education is for improving pupils' life chances, and remain very positive about working at the school (Ofsted 2026).

At The Oxford Academy, support staff are valued as essential professional partners in our school's success. We actively invest in our team through CPLD and formal apprenticeship pathways funded via the River Learning Trust Apprenticeship Levy. Whether you are starting out or looking to broaden your career, our support staff have successfully completed Level 3 to Level 5 qualifications, enabling meaningful internal career progression.
