Are you a reliable and proactive individual looking for a short-term opportunity in facilities and caretaking? We are seeking a Facilities Assistant / Caretaker to support the effective operation of community facilities and events at Oxford Town Hall.

The Role

As part of the Facilities team, you will play a key role in ensuring Council buildings are clean, safe, secure, and ready for visitors, staff, and community events.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning offices, kitchens, toilets, stairwells, function rooms, and communal areas
• Preparing rooms and equipment for meetings, functions, and events
• Setting up and dismantling furniture and equipment
• Carrying out caretaking duties, including waste disposal
• Locking and unlocking buildings and operating alarm systems
• Assisting with minor maintenance repairs and facilities requests
• Supporting the upkeep of pool cars and bicycles
• Delivering excellent customer service to building users and visitors

About You

• Previous experience in cleaning, caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or a similar role
• Practical, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible and reliable with a positive attitude
• Basic maintenance skills would be advantageous
