Future Gen Recruitment is representing a highly respected consultancy seeking an MRTPI Associate Planner to take a leadership role within its Oxford team.
This is a key hire within a business delivering high-value residential projects, strategic housing allocations and complex planning work across Oxfordshire. The team advises on projects that often involve political sensitivity, heritage constraints and significant stakeholder engagement — requiring a planner who can balance technical credibility with commercial understanding.
The RoleAs Associate Planner, you will combine project leadership with team mentoring and commercial responsibility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading major residential and mixed-use planning strategies
- Managing key client relationships and ensuring repeat instructions
- Overseeing Local Plan submissions and strategic land promotion
- Leading appeal strategies and coordinating inquiry teams
- Supporting and mentoring junior planners and mid-level staff
- Managing project budgets, programmes and consultant coordination
- Supporting fee proposals, tenders and business development activity
- Ensuring quality control across major planning submissions
This is a role for someone who wants influence, visibility and progression.
About You- Strong consultancy or developer-side planning experience
- Proven ability leading complex planning applications and strategy work
- Strong client management and stakeholder negotiation skills
