Salary: £56,623 – £65,336 (Grade
9)

Role Overview

The Head of Philanthropy will be a key member of the Development & Alumni team and will:

  • Report to the Associate Director, Development and collaborate with stakeholders across the School and the wider university.
  • Manage and cultivate a mixed portfolio of approximately 85 prospects, including individuals, corporations, trusts, and foundations.
  • Lead and grow a high‑performing fundraising team.
  • Develop and execute a strategy to secure major and principal gifts.
  • Translate subject‑matter experts’ work into robust cases for support.
  • Maintain an entrepreneurial mindset and apply fundraising best practice.
  • Operate effectively in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience of major donor fundraising and a strong track record.
  • Experience working with subject‑matter experts to translate their work into cases for support.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with knowledge of fundraising best practice.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
