Job summary

Are you an experienced project manager with a passion for delivering high-quality healthcare estates projects?

We are recruiting a full-time Senior Capital Project Manager to lead the delivery of capital projects across the Trust, ensuring they meet key objectives and support our overall strategic plans.

You’ll have responsibility for the design, development and delivery of complex projects across our sites from RIBA Stage 3 onwards, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards. From modernising healthcare facilities and ensuring compliance with NHS and statutory regulations, to driving innovation in sustainable design and leading project teams, this role offers both challenge and reward in equal measure.

As a senior leader, you will bring proven expertise in construction project management, contract administration and stakeholder engagement. You’ll be confident managing large‑scale healthcare schemes, balancing technical detail with strategic oversight, and inspiring those around you to deliver exceptional results. The role involves collaborating with clinical and estates teams to implement solutions for clinical needs, estates development, compliance, and improvement.

This is more than a project management role – it’s a chance to influence the future of patient care by creating safe, effective and inspiring spaces. If you are ambitious, resilient and driven by the opportunity to improve NHS environments, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job
  • Lead the design and delivery of capital projects, ensuring compliance with NHS standards, statutory legislation, and Trust policies.
  • Manage all stages of project development, including site surveys, design workshops, procurement, and construction.
  • Liaise with Quantity Surveyors, design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Maintain tight control over project briefs, schedules, risks, and budgets.
  • Ensure all projects comply with CQC outcomes, health and safety, and environmental standards, including net zero carbon targets.
  • Develop and present business cases, progress reports, and financial forecasts.
  • Oversee contract administration, including tendering, contract management, and dispute resolution.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice in capital project delivery.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including Directors, Heads of Service, Consultants, and Commissioners.
