About Us
Oxfordshire County Councils Transport Development Management team has a prime role in creating high‑quality, sustainable places, where people want to live and work, through our input into the development planning process. The team provides OCCs statutory planning consultation responses on all transport matters, and is involved from the earliest pre‑application discussions, through to negotiation of S106 agreements and discharge of conditions.
Team members work closely with each other and colleagues from across the Council in a very supportive environment.
The Role
If successful, you will assess the highway safety, transport impacts and mitigation needs of development proposals, ensuring that they meet national and local policy and guidance, and provide high quality advice to the planning authorities, focussing on Cherwell, Oxford City, and West Oxfordshire. You will negotiate S106 agreements, and provide written statements for planning appeals where necessary. You will support senior colleagues in providing the highways and transport input to strategic development proposals.
AboutYou
You will have three years relevant experience in a related role, preferably including experience in Local Government. You will be highly motivated and task focused, with a strong commitment to sustainable transport. You will be a good team player, customer focused and with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.
