Pyrotechnic Packing Operative
Chalgrove | £27,500 | Permanent | Days
A globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Chalgrove is looking for a Pyrotechnic Packing Operative. This role involves packing and palletising specialist pyrotechnic components, including cartridge sets and rocket motors, used in aviation safety systems. You’ll be working with explosive materials in a highly regulated, safety‑critical environment.
What you’ll be doing
Packing and palletising cartridges and rocket motors to engineering instructions
Handling explosive materials safely and in line with strict procedures
Raising delivery paperwork and printing labels
Using SAP to track work progress and meet KPIs
Following dangerous goods regulations for air, sea, and road transport
Supporting 5S and continuous improvement activities
Ensuring full compliance with health and safety requirements, including risk assessments and COSHH
What you need
GCSEs grade 3–7 (or equivalent)
Dangerous goods training (air, sea, road) is preferred, though fast‑track training is available for candidates with relevant experience
Level D approval, or the ability to gain it
Basic SAP and Microsoft Office skills
A solid understanding of H&S procedures in regulated environments
High attention to detail and the ability to follow precise specifications
A collaborative approach with the ability to work independently when required
What’s on offer
£27,500 per annum
Days-based hours: 08:00-16:45, Mon-Thu / 08:00-12:00, Fri
