Do you enjoy building the tools that make breakthrough products possible?
Are you at your best when developing brand-new assembly methods rather than refining existing ones?
Looking for a role where your ideas directly influence how a next-generation product is manufactured?
Our client, a pioneering technology company based in Oxfordshire, is expanding its research and production capability and is now seeking a Senior Manufacturing Development Engineer to play a central role in shaping how a new platform is assembled and industrialised.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact engineering position where creativity, hands‑on skill and manufacturing expertise combine.
Why This Opportunity Stands OutThis position goes far beyond routine production support. It is about designing the very foundations of how a new product is built.
In this role, you will:- Create and refine bespoke tooling, fixtures and assembly equipment to support prototype and early‑stage builds
- Embed strong Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFM/DFA) thinking into product development from the outset
- Develop innovative assembly workflows and production methodologies for a completely new system
- Partner closely with design, R&D and production colleagues to translate complex concepts into manufacturable solutions
- Work directly with suppliers and manufacturing partners to bring tooling designs into reality
- Utilise workshop equipment where needed to adapt, machine or optimise tooling in‑house
- Guiding products from early‑stage concept through iteration and into production
- Designing and implementing jigs, fixtures, tooling or bespoke production equipment
- Establishing or enhancing assembly and manufacturing processes
- Working with machining techniques such as CNC, milling and turning
- Understanding moulding, forming or precision fabrication processes
- Applying knowledge of material behaviour, particularly metals and engineered polymers
- Designing in CAD (ideally Solid Works or similar) with a strong appreciation for tolerances and manufacturability
- Confidently operating workshop machinery to modify or refine tooling solutions
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Precision alignment or complex mechanical integration challenges
- Transitioning designs into pilot builds and low‑volume production
- Structured quality or regulated environments
If your background includes transferable experience within advanced manufacturing, precision engineering or complex product development environments, our client would be keen to hear from you.
Diversity & InclusionOur client and Humand Talent are committed to fostering inclusive workplaces where diverse perspectives drive innovation. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and encourage those who may not meet every listed criterion to apply. Potential, adaptability and mindset are highly valued.
