Mechanical Assembly Operative
33,700 per annum (including 22.6% shift uplift)
Location: Near Oxford (20-minute drive)
Hours: Monday to Friday during training/probation, moving to a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern (7am to 4:30pm) upon successful completion of probation
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Permanent
Syntech Recruitment are supporting a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business near Oxford that produces safety-critical products used within the aerospace and defence sectors.
We're looking for a Mechanical Assembly Operative to join their growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with assembly, manufacturing, production or engineering experience who enjoys working with precision components in a structured, quality-focused environment.

Mechanical Assembly Operative Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical components and assemblies to detailed engineering specifications
Follow work instructions, manufacturing procedures and engineering drawings
Use hand tools and production equipment safely and effectively
Carry out assembly work to strict quality standards and tolerances
Identify and verify part numbers, batch information and drawing revisions
Complete in-process inspections and quality checks
Record work accurately using SAP and other production systems
Handle components and materials carefully to prevent damage
Support continuous improvement and 5S activities
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
What We're Looking For
Previous experience within manufacturing, assembly or production environments
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience using hand tools and assembly equipment
Good attention to detail and quality standards
Reliable and safety-conscious approach to work
Candidates from assembly, aerospace, automotive, defence, electronics, mechanical fitting, engineering and manufacturing backgrounds are all encouraged to apply.
