Overview
We are looking for a skilled Manufacturing Associate and digitally savvy Operator to join our mRNA vaccines production unit at the Harwell site. This role operates production equipment in accordance with cGMP and health & safety regulations, requiring strong technical skills, scientific thinking, rapid learning ability, and meticulous attention to detail in a highly technological environment.
Key Responsibilities- Adhere to Moderna’s safety procedures and maintain housekeeping of assigned areas to ensure compliance and safety.
- Execute operations activities according to current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), standard operating procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate closely with QA peers for timely closure of documentation related to commercial batch disposition.
- Participate in investigations (RCA) and CAPA tasks to address deviations and compliance issues.
- Utilize performance tools in collaboration with the team to meet operational KPI objectives.
- Respond to and troubleshoot routine equipment, process, and digital issues rapidly.
- Proactively identify and report compliance or health and safety issues to supervisors.
- Keep training records and documentation up to date.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks (e.g., lubrication, mechanical checks, filter changes) using hand tools.
- Show flexibility to work off‑hours and overtime when necessary.
- Contribute to multiple projects and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
- Collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross‑functional matrix environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
- Site‑based role; full‑time presence required at Moderna’s Harwell site.
- University degree in Pharmaceutical Production Technology or related field.
- Experience with filtration and chromatography, and cold chain management is a plus.
- Experience in audit / inspection preparation and knowledge of health authority and regulatory guidelines.
- Ability to collaborate fluidly with peers, leadership and cross‑functional support groups.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail while executing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

- 2‑2‑3 (Panama) schedule: a 28‑day rotation where each employee works a 12‑hour shift, with 4 teams cycling through 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on.
