We're recruiting for an experienced CNC Programmer / Production Engineer to join a specialist Machine Shop working on complex, high-precision components across small-batch, prototype and one-off manufacturing.
The role has a strong focus on 5-axis CNC programming using Open Mind Hypermill.
The Role- Create and optimise CNC programmes using Hypermill.
- Programme complex components across 3-axis, 3+2 and 5-axis machining.
- Produce tooling, set-up and manufacturing documentation.
- Support prototype and small-batch production.
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues.
- Support production planning, scheduling and pricing.
- Liaise with Design, Production, Purchasing and customers.
- Support tooling, TPM, maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate ERP, programme and job-pack information.
- 3+ years' Hypermill CAD/CAM programming experience.
- Strong 5-axis Hypermill programming experience - essential.
- Genuine hands-on CNC programming experience.
- Experience with complex, high-precision machining.
- Background in small-batch/prototype manufacturing.
- Experience with 3-axis, 3+2 and 5-axis machining.
- Strong engineering drawing and GD&T knowledge.
- FANUC experience advantageous.
- Matsuura and/or Colchester experience advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
