Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating a wide range of communications activities that support world‑leading research in emerging infectious diseases, helping to raise the profile of ERGO and its global partnerships. You will ensure the right communications messaging, approach, formats and channels are deployed to reach our varied audiences. This will include planning, writing and creating online and offline content for websites, social media, newsletters, reports, media relations and presentations, commissioning external agencies to produce material where required.

You will also monitor and evaluate communications performance using appropriate analytics, using insights to inform future strategy and continuous improvement. The role will involve working closely with academics and programme teams to ensure accurate and timely messaging. You will be part of a wider, supportive network of communications professionals across the Department and wider University.

Qualifications

It is essential that you have significant professional communications experience across several communications disciplines, with proven ability to deliver effective online and multimedia content and evaluate its impact. Excellent interpersonal skills are required, including the confidence to work with senior colleagues and external stakeholders. You should be digitally fluent, with experience of website content management systems and social media in an organisational setting, and have a clear awareness of emerging digital and AI developments in communications. A commitment to communications best practice and ongoing professional development is also essential.
