You’ll have the opportunity to lead high-impact marketing campaigns for Pearson’s UK Vocational Marketing team, working closely with product and sales teams to engage educators and learners/parents, drive growth and strengthen Pearson’s presence in the market.
About the roleWe are looking for an Advanced Specialist, Product Marketing to work in our UK Vocational Marketing team role will be responsible for marketing our BTEC Tech Awards qualifications offer to educators in Schools and collaborating with the Schools marketing team to maximise opportunities around KS4 revenue. Reporting to the Manager, Product Marketing for BTEC and T Levels, the role will work closely with our product managers and sales team as we develop our product portfolio within a competitive and evolving market.
We are looking for someone who is customer focused, commercially minded, results-driven, and able to build relationships with key stakeholders whilst executing a number of key campaigns.
This is a broad role that requires a hands‑on marketer with experience of building and maintaining good direct and cross‑functional relationships and who can plan and execute marketing campaigns from conception through to completion and evaluation. Keyresponsibilities
Campaign strategy and execution
- To develop and implement customer‑focused marketing campaigns across multiple channels to drive growth and retention business goals and deliver effective ROI.
- To define lead journeys for customer segments, and to create lead management and lead nurturing tactics to convert them into qualified leads and purchasers.
- To develop ‘Go‑to‑Market' acquisition marketing plans using internal and external insights.
- To manage end‑to‑end campaigns through all phases of the campaign lifecycle, including strategy, creative development, audience segmentation and targeting, campaign execution, tracking response and reporting.
- Use customer insights, competitors, and market share research to inform strategy, GTM plans, and campaigns.
Marketing content
- Lead the planning, development and production of high‑quality marketing content (sales presentations, website, emails, subject guides, white papers, video, infographics, blogs, podcasts, social posts, PR, events, etc.) and for all stages of the customer journey, to maximise campaign effectiveness.
- Work closely with the Manager, design team to create campaigns that follow brand guidelines and ladder effectively to wider product marketing and brand strategy.
- Develop messaging frameworks and write engaging copy for campaigns‑using customer insights and Pearson brand guidelines.
- Lead on our key vocational sector events to market how we show up at various conferences.
Stakeholder and people management
- Work with our Product Development and Sales colleagues to develop and deliver marketing campaigns to meet business targets.
- Brief internal specialist marketing teams and third parties including industry specialists and agencies to successfully deliver campaigns.
- Informally mentor and help manage Associates/Advanced Associates (Marketing Executives) supporting campaign delivery.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders in brand, product and PR to manage customer and end user (learner) sentiment and boost share of voice in the market.
Customer insight
- Build a strong level of customer and market insight/understanding, to inform strategic decision making and drive effective marketing.
- Work with customers to gain insights, feedback, and marketing content.
- Education industry experience or insights into schools, colleges, and universities and education is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and networking skills with a strong sense of teamwork and the ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels.
