Job Description & How to Apply Below

You will foster local mission and ministry (particularly the ministry of the Word): (a) through the management of the training and formation of candidates for licensed lay ministry and authorised lay ministry; (b) through the management of the training and formation of those candidates training for ordained assistant ministry through the Elizabeth pathway, in the Diocese of Oxford; (c) through leading, training, and managing a team of volunteer tutors, and working with colleagues in the Formation for Ministry Team to deliver these training programmes;

and (d) through the oversight of all the accredited awards programmes offered by the Diocese of Oxford through the Common Awards partnership (between the Church of England and Durham University).

If you have a passion for the ministry of the Word, experience of helping people to grow in ministry roles in the local church, experience of training people for ordained or licensed ministry in the Church of England, and you enjoy helping people to get better equipped for ministry in the local church and wider community, we would love to hear from you.

The Church of England is committed to the safeguarding, care, and nurture of everyone within our church community. In the Diocese of Oxford, we follow and are committed to the Church of England's House of Bishops' Safeguarding Policies and the relevant statutory legislation and guidance, "Working together" to ensure the welfare of children and young people is paramount

If you have a passion for deepening the ministry of the word, developing lay ministers of all kinds, and growing the numbers of lay and ordained assistant ministers in the church, this might be the role for you!

An opportunity has arisen to join the Diocese of Oxford in our vibrant Mission and Ministry Department. We are looking to recruit someone with experience of forming ministers in theological education and of forming ministers in the local church to lead our training programmes for licensed and authorised lay ministers, and our ordinands on the Elizabeth pathway.
