• Registered Nurse (Child)
• Relevant specialist post‑basic education (e.g., A&E Course, Leadership course/diploma preferably at degree level)
• Adult/Paediatric Life Support provider (depending on post) – Trauma Training Qualification

• Up‑to‑date knowledge and expertise in the speciality
• Knowledge of key professional issues and NMC guidelines relating to practice
• Evidence of working across organisational boundaries

• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Experience of formal/informal teaching of patients and staff
• Clear vision of the role and service
• Ability to initiate, sustain and evaluate change
• Skilled written and verbal communication

• Understanding of relevant national strategy and policy as it relates to the service
