CTCCU is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced critical care nurse to join our dynamic team in the role of Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse. CTCCU is a 21 bedded unit providing level two and three care to patients following cardiac, major aortic and thoracic surgery, and to those with acute cardiac medical conditions. This challenging, exciting and supportive environment will facilitate the ongoing advancement of your specialist critical care skills, with opportunities to develop skills in invasive and non‑invasive modes of ventilation and weaning, the use of ventricular assist devices, cardiac output monitoring and haemofiltration, acute arrhythmia management, advanced ECG interpretation, IABP therapy and active participation in the PPCI service.
Going forward there will also be opportunities to train and develop expertise in the management of patients requiring ECMO.
- You must have a postgraduate qualification at level 6 or 7 in Critical Care practice or the ENB 100 to apply for this post. Candidates require relevant demonstrable skills in high dependency/intensive care nursing with a post‑registration qualification in ITU/critical care nursing. Evidence of involvement in projects and the delivery of excellent nursing care through team working are essential, as is a commitment to the advancement of critical care nursing.
The candidate must demonstrate motivation, enthusiasm and leadership skills whilst also delivering a patient‑centred approach to care within a highly technical environment. The posts offered will involve bedside nursing care and unit co‑ordination, education qualifications – Registered Nurse (First/Second level registration) diploma or degree in Health Care Studies. - Postgraduate course level 6/7 in Critical Care practice or ENB 100.
