Pediatric Nurse
Role: Nurse/Senior Support Worker
Salary: Up to £39,400 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
Location: Headington, Oxfordshire.

Hours:
Permanent Full time 37 hours per week.

Do you have a strong background in children and young people’s nursing? Are you focused and passionate about changing the lives of children and young people for the better? We have a unique opportunity for a Nurse/Manager to work as a ‘hands on’ Nurse as part of the leadership team within our 6 bedded Residential Short Breaks service, Viking House.
Viking House is our Children's Short Break centre in Headington for children with disabilities who have a diagnosis of autism, complex health needs and/or complex behaviour, up to the ages 4 to 18.
The centre provides a structured environment and nursing care as a nurse within the service you will give parents and carers the opportunity to ‘recharge their batteries' in the knowledge that their child is in a safe and stimulating environment.
You will be dealing with auditing medication, overseeing and supporting our support workers with training in healthcare tasks and clinical administration tasks.

- Being part of the leadership team.
- Training and supporting colleagues in healthcare tasks.
- Conducting individual risk assessments and person-centred planning providing a positive proactive outlook to support the young people in our care.
- Being responsible for the safeguarding of the young person, as well as being resilient in supporting them through challenging situations.
- Maintaining accurate records and audits of medication.
- A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people.
- To hold an appropriate Nurse registration.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience of working as a Nurse with children and young people with complex needs.
- Experience of multiagency working and attending meetings when required.
- Leadership skills.
- A ‘hands on’ approach whilst overseeing a team.
