Clinical Leader (Day Theatres – Endoscopy)

Location:

Oxford Hospital, part time (30 hours per week), permanent contract, salary up to £48,000 per annum depending on experience.

We are Nuffield Health Oxford Hospital, a leading healthcare charity based in Oxford, providing extensive surgical and medical expertise with six modern operating theatres.

Job responsibilities
  • Conduct and organise the Clinical Surgical and Endoscopy team within theatre, ensuring smooth running of theatre lists, booking forms and assisting sessions.
  • Work collaboratively and flexibly across theatre suites to accommodate service demands of Endoscopy, General, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology departments.
  • Promote effective clinical risk management, governance, safety, risk management, quality improvement, and ensure policies and procedures to enhance patient care and service delivery.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge required for audits and equipment management.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of surgical techniques and associated equipment.
  • Support continuous growth and personal development, including possible Surgical First Assist training.
Qualifications
  • Registered with the appropriate governing body, holding relevant qualifications and post‑registration experience in surgery/anaesthetics, including as a Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner.
Experience
  • Strong clinical leadership with the ability to guide teams toward a shared vision, promoting innovation and sustainability.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of running a smooth and effective department, including equipment management.
