It is an opportunity for someone to join a fast paced environment admitting Thoracic patients directly from theatre and Cardiac patients from Cardiothoracic Critical Care area. This position will provide a challenging but rewarding opportunity to develop skills and to deliver excellent care to a wide group of patients. As well as assisting leading and shaping the service you will help to raise the profile of the high care area caring for patients undergoing Cardiac and Thoracic surgery.

We are looking for someone who is dedicated to delivering clinical excellence for our patients and will help to maintain nursing standards and to contribute to the future of the ward. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop professionally and personally. The Ward is committed to the education of its staff.

We would like you to have had some experience of nursing surgical patients, coordination understanding, have good time management and organisational skills, excellent communication and customer service skills, and to have a cardiac specific academic course and the Mentorship qualification.,

  • Practice supervisor and practice assessor course
  • 2 years experience in CTW
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal or written)
Desirable criteria
  • Post-registration cardiorespiratory course (or its equivalent)
  • PG Cert in Practice Education (or its equivalent) (2)
