Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager
Abingdon, Oxfordshire
£50,000 to £60,000 + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Health and Safety professional with a strong background in heavy industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical, FMCG, or similar sectors?

We've been engaged by a leading facilities management organisation who are contracted to an industrial technology manufacturer to recruit a Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager. The organisation has a large global network and this role will be specifically responsible for their substantial research and development facility.

The company are leaders in health and safety and have an exceptional track record, this role will join the existing health and safety team and will play a key part in the organisations continuing success.

Responsibilities for the Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager will include:

  • Ensuring the facility is fully compliant with both UK legislation and the global strategy for health, safety and environment
  • Acting as the key point of contact for health and safety, covering all mechanical equipment and hard facilities across the site
  • Auditing safety, health and environmental performance, accurately reporting and investigating incidents and near misses

    Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders including contractors, regulators, and enforcement agencies

The successful Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager will have:

  • Proven experience in a similar role ideally within a related manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical or related environment
  • NEBOSH or equivalent and membership of IOSH, ideally working towards or hold the Diploma
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging clients, staff, and contractors
  • Experience of working with ISO management systems
  • IEMA certificate/Environmental qualification (desirable)
