Chemical Formatting Junior Scientist

SRG is working with a specialist researcher in the biotech sector who are hiring for a new member of their chemical formatting team. Initially the job would just be for a 6-month period but has a good chance of going permanent. The role will consist of preparing and weighing laboratory samples as well as formatting the data computationally. It will be a fairly even split of laboratory and office work and would suit someone with previous Microsoft excel experience and/or a background in laboratory sample preparation.

• Preparing and organising incoming chemical compounds, including tracking, weighing, and initial sample preparation for scientific teams.
• Supporting the smooth running of the laboratory by assisting with stock keeping, general lab maintenance, and other operational tasks as needed.
• Accurately tracking laboratory work using various software tools and maintain precise records in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
• Working closely with team members and other departments, ensuring clear communication and effective teamwork

• 5 GCSEs at grade C or above or equivalent qualifications
• Experience of working with Excel spreadsheets
• Laboratory experience, especially pipetting and liquid handling would be particularly advantageous
• Able to commute to the Oxford area on a daily basis
• Full right to work in the UK
