Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Impact Facilitator Networks for the Environment)

Environmental Change Institute, School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford Be at the heart of Oxford's environmental transformation. The Oxford Networks for the Environment (ONE) are seeking an exceptional Impact Facilitator to evaluate, strengthen, and amplify the real‑world impact of environmental research across the University. For over a decade, ONE has connected researchers working on biodiversity, climate, energy, food, and water across divisions and departments.

Now, as Oxford advances its Environmental Sustainability Strategy and commits to becoming a "living laboratory" for climate sustainability and biodiversity recovery, this role will help assess what has been achieved - and shape what comes next. Working closely with Professor Jim Hall and network convenors, you will evaluate the impact of ONE's activities from 2021‑2026, develop frameworks to capture research reach and influence, and produce a compelling impact report for senior stakeholders.

Beyond assessment, you will actively facilitate new impact: building strategic connections within and beyond Oxford, supporting researchers to engage with policymakers and partners, identifying research priorities aligned with sustainability goals, and helping to resource and deliver high‑impact initiatives and events. This is a strategic, outward‑facing role suited to someone with experience in knowledge exchange, public engagement, or impact facilitation in a research environment.

You will bring strong organisational and diplomatic skills, the ability to manage complex projects independently, and confidence in communicating specialist research to diverse audiences. A background in sustainability, climate, or biodiversity research is essential.

If you are motivated to connect research with action and help elevate the impact of environmental scholarship at a global‑leading university, we would be delighted to hear from you. This post is fixed term for 10 months and offered on a full‑time basis (1 FTE / 37.5 hours). It could be held part‑time over a longer duration if desired. What We Offer As an employer, we genuinely care about our employees' well‑being, and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer including:

  • An excellent contributory pension scheme
  • 38 days annual leave
  • A comprehensive range of childcare services
  • Family leave schemes
  • Cycle loan scheme
  • Discounted bus travel and Season Ticket travel loans.
