OverviewProf Skirmantas Kriaucionis research group aims to elucidate the molecular function of DNA modifications in normal cells, leading to the understanding of how defective pathways contribute to neoplasia. Prof Stefan N Constantinescu group at Ludwig Oxford studies the link between signalling, epigenetic regulators, chromatin dynamics and differentiation in myeloid blood cancers. The post will work at the interface of these three groups with the goal of discovering mechanisms governing the emergence of secondary acute myelogenous leukaemia.
Responsibilities- Manage your own academic research and administrative activities.
- Participate in and contribute directly to scientific discussions with other group members and collaborators.
- Adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols.
- Co‑responsible with others for the biological safety of the laboratory.
- PhD degree (or close to completion) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, and epigenetics.
- Strong background in chromatin function and experience with standard molecular biology and chromatin investigation techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate research findings clearly and logically within a diverse research team.
This position is offered full time on a fixed‑term contract for 36 months and is funded by Ludwig. Salary (£) :
Research Grade 7: £39,424 - £47,779 with a discretionary range to £53,483 per annum (pro rata). This is inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per year (pro rata).
