About the roleAs Research Facility Scientist, you will contribute to all aspects of model generation and validation. Responsibilities will include:
- Design and construction of molecular reagents and targeting constructs
- Mammalian cell culture and genome editing
- Molecular genetic validation of edited lines
- Embryo manipulation and transgenic model production
- Cryopreservation (embryo and sperm freezing)
- Rederivation of mouse lines via IVF and embryo transfer
- Management of mouse colonies
You will work closely with researchers across the Institute to deliver high‑quality, reproducible model systems that underpin innovative scientific programmes.
About youYou will hold a degree in Biological Sciences (or a closely related discipline) and have relevant laboratory experience. Essential experience required includes:
- Molecular biology techniques
- CRISPR genome editing
- Mammalian cell culture
- Transgenic model generation
- Mouse colony management
- Cryopreservation and rederivation techniques
You will also demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organisational ability, and a clear commitment to supporting high‑quality scientific research.
Contract typeThis is a full‑time (37.5 hours per week) fixed‑term position for 3 years.
£39,424 to £47,779 per annum. Grade 7
