. Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Physics Department, University of Oxford. The post holder is a member of a research group with responsibility for carrying out research on theoretical condensed matter physics. We are particularly interested in candidates with extensive numerical expertise, especially in the setting of 2d materials, using a full range of techniques: exact diagonalization, Monte Carlo, and where appropriate, tensor network techniques.
The postholder should also have a broad familiarity with the theory of strongly correlated systems and excellent oral and written communication skills. The post holder provides guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, and PhD and project students. This is a full-time post, fixed term for 12 months.

- Utilize extensive numerical techniques in 2d materials, including exact diagonalization, Monte Carlo, and tensor network methods where appropriate.
- Develop and apply methods for strongly correlated systems and contribute to theoretical insights in 2d materials or moir e9 systems.
- Provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, and PhD/project students.
- PhD (or near completion) in physics or a related field.
- Numerical expertise in 2d materials or moir e9 systems, including Hartree-Fock, Monte Carlo, and tensor network methods.
