Research Nurse

Overview

Department of Paediatrics, Specialised Translational Research Oxford Neuromuscular Group (STRONG), John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford — Research Nurse role to contribute to translational research studies aimed at improving diagnosis, treatment and care of children with neuromuscular disorders. The role involves coordinating and delivering research studies, ensuring participant safety, maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting high-quality data collection, and providing effective support through communication, clinical expertise and organisational skills.

• Coordinate and deliver research studies within STRONG, ensuring adherence to study protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure participant safety and well-being during research activities.
• Maintain regulatory compliance, including data handling and study documentation.
• Support collection, management and quality assurance of research data.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with staff, researchers and participants.

• Registered nursing qualification, supplemented by post-qualification experience in a clinical research or paediatric nursing role.
• Proven technical skills including research study coordination, venepuncture, clinical assessment and data collection.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to operate effectively in a demanding and dynamic research environment.

Full-time on a fixed-term contract initially for one year with the possibility to extend provided further external funding is available.
