Grade 5:
Salary in the range of £32,108-£37,338 per annum with a discretionary range up to £40,514 per annum. This is inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per year.
This is a full time (100% FTE), fixed term position for 12 months.

The Kennedy Institute is a biomedical research centre uniquely bringing together discovery science and early-stage clinical research, to develop transformative new therapies for chronic inflammatory and musculoskeletal conditions.
The Digital Pathology Omics Core facility (DPOC) is a small research facilities (SRF) providing spatial proteomics (highly multiplexed imaging) services for researchers from Oxford and throughout theworld.

About the Role
We are offering an exciting and unique opportunity for a laboratory technician to join the Digital Pathology Omics Core (DPOC).You will be responsible for managing and running highly multiplexed immunohistochemistry, including antibody panel design and validation, sampleprocessingand staining. You will also ensure quality control, including spotting discrepancies between references and samples as well as proposing refinements and re-run experiments where necessary.
In this role you will work with SRF users to support 2D and 3D image quantification, managing datasets and data archivingas well as assist with inductions,trainingandongoingsupportforusers (staff and students) ofthe SRF, includingprovidinga point of reference for less experienced team membersas well as SRF users. You will use advanced imaging equipment including,but not limited to,the Cell DIVE,Pheno Cycler Fusion , Multiplex Ion Beam Imaging (MIBI) system and Open-Top Light-Sheet (OTLS) imaging systems.
This role will involve providing support to the DPOC manager with financial,project and sample administration, including evaluating andpurchasingequipment and consumables,implementingcostmodelsand managing human samplelogisticsfor samples from across the UK and abroadand sample storage and processing.
About You
You will be educated to at least BSc-level or hold an equivalent qualification in sciencetogether with experience of workinginlaboratory environment. You will demonstrate the ability to manage your own lab work and administrative activities as well as projects assigned to the imaging facility, including the ability tomanage both time and records effectively. You will also have the ability to troubleshoot problems with experiments and arrive at an appropriate solution.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment as well as the ability to write up experimental resultsis essential. Relevant experience in histology and microscopy, especially knowledge in multiplexed imaging or advanced microscopy is desirable.
