Assistant Curator for Ancient Egypt and Sudan
About the role
You will lead exciting collections, research, digitisation and exhibition projects, working with colleagues across the Museum to improve access, interpretation and public engagement.
You will take responsibility for researching, documenting and developing the collections, contribute to exhibitions and gallery re displays, publish original research, build partnerships, and provide expert advice to researchers, students and visitors. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a lasting contribution to our internationally renowned Antiquities collection.
This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 3 years.
Due to the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a satisfactory Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
About You
You will have postgraduate qualifications in Egyptology, Egyptian archaeology or a closely related subject, together with substantial museum or archaeological collections experience.
You will bring specialist knowledge of the archaeology and material culture of ancient Egypt and/or Sudan, excellent research and communication skills, and experience of managing complex projects.
You will be confident working independently, collaborating with a wide range of colleagues and partners, and sharing your expertise with academic and public audiences.
